nothing's better than a story...
A lecturer presents to two groups of students. She tells Group A that what she’s about to cover will be assessed after the lecture, but also that her lecture will contain a lie. She omits the reference to the lie with Group B. Apart from her simple brief, she covers the exact same material in both lectures. So who performs better in the assessment?
Group A achieves a significantly higher result. The reference to a lie was the learning hook. It was such a simple way to increase her students’ attention, capturing their imaginations and enabling them to listen more effectively. Listening is paramount to eLearning.

10% of organisational learning comes from formalised learning experiences (study, classrooms, online courses), 20% through feedback on performance, with the remaining 70% happening all around us.
